Royal van Zanten and Sion BV win Quality Cup

Bernard Koeckhoven, manager at Interpolis, announced the winners of the Interpolis Quality Cup yesterday at the Interpolis House of Quality. The winner for cut flowers was Royal van Zanten from Rijsenhout and the winner for pot plants was Sion BV.

Horticulture works worldwide on solutions for water

The International HortiWeek was opened on Tuesday 1 November with a congress to which an international group of speakers had been invited. They addressed problem-solving approaches that horticulture can offer for the challenges involving water and food supplies in the coming decades. Growing in substrates under protected conditions is one of the spearheads in this process. The speakers emphasized that socio-economic and political factors are important parameters in the introduction of new horticultural techniques.

10 technical and 3 green nomination for Horti Fair Innovation Award 2011

Thirteen new products are candidates for this year s Horti Fair Innovation Award: ten technical innovations and three in the green category. They have been nominated by the international jury of experts, which assessed almost one hundred new products and services being launched at the coming Horti Fair. Director Frans-Peter Dechering: These nominations provide a fantastic impression of the wide and innovative nature of international greenhouse horticulture, in just the same way as the Horti Fair is a reflection of this dynamic sector. The participants who have won this prestigious annual award for the most promising innovation at the Horti Fair will be announced on Tuesday 1 November, the first day of the trade show in the Amsterdam RAI.

Horti Fair and Lakerveld launch international trade journal

The International Horti Fair and Lakerveld publishing are launching an international horticultural trade journal about technology, innovation and inspiration. The announcement was made by the organizers of the trade fair and the publisher. In October 2011 the first edition of the Holland Horticulture Technology Review will be distributed in a total press run of 21,000 copies, in both a printed and a digital version.
